Maryam Karimi is originally from Iran.  She has 17 years of experience in the settlement sector.  She has a Law degree from Iran, Tehran, a Masters of Education from Manchester University, and a Social Work degree from the University of Regina. She has worked in her native country of Iran, the UK, South Africa, Calgary, Saskatoon and for the last three years in Regina.

Maryam has worked with Refugee Assistant Program (RAP) for couple of years.  Her frontline work as SWIS was continued as a team leader of SWIS and Youth programs in Saskatoon.

Now a part of team SAISIA, Maryam’s first-hand experience adjusting to life in new surroundings has been instrumental in her current position as Prairie and Northwest Territories (PNT) SWIS Coordinator..
