Board Member

Melissa Mitchell is a dedicated advocate for both people and animals, leveraging over 11 years of experience in supporting newcomers to Canada through her roles at the Moose Jaw Multicultural Council. With a passion for fostering inclusive communities, Melissa has served in various capacities within the organization, including Settlement Services and Community Connection initiatives. Currently, she is in the role as the Newcomer Welcome Centre Manager, where she leads efforts to ensure a smooth transition for newcomers into their new environment.

As someone deeply committed to advocating for the rights and needs of newcomers, joining the SAISIA board provides her with a platform to further amplify her advocacy efforts. By being part of the board, Melissa can contribute to shaping policies and initiatives that directly impact the lives of immigrants and refugees in Saskatchewan.

Melissa have experience in various capacities within the Moose Jaw Multicultural Council demonstrating her ability to work collaboratively within diverse teams to achieve common goals. Joining the SAISIA board allows her to bring her collaborative leadership skills to a broader context, collaborating with other professionals and organizations across the province to enhance immigrant settlement and integration services.
