Board of Directors

Keith Karasin has been the Executive Director of the Regina Open Door Society (RODS) since April 1, 2023, after serving as the Interim Executive Director & Director of Central Administration and Finance from April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023. Keith had served RODS as the Director of Central Administration and Finance from February 1, 2018 to March 31, 2023.

Keith was formerly the Executive Director of the Regina Open Door Society from 1990 to 2001, when he left the organization to become the Executive Director of the Canadian Cancer Society in Saskatchewan (CCS) where he worked from 2001 to 2018 until his retirement and subsequent return to RODS.

As the former Executive Director of RODS, Keith served on the SAISIA Board of Directors, the Board of Directors of the Western Canada Association of Immigrant Serving Agencies (WCAISA) as well as on the Board of Governors of the Prairie Centre for Excellence for Research on Immigration and Integration within the Metropolis Project.

In addition to his work with RODS and CCS, Keith taught part-time in the Department of Sociology and Social Studies, University of Regina for over 25 years.

Keith also served as a Justice of the Peace with the Provincial Court of Saskatchewan for 25 years. In his role as a Justice of the Peace, Keith supported the Victims of Interpersonal Violence Act and Child Sexual Exploitation Act as well as performing the regular duties of a Justice of the Peace.
