Brent Clarke
Board Member
Brent is currently the English as an Additional Language Program Coordinator at North West College, working out of the North Battleford campus. Before taking on this role, Brent worked as a LINC instructor for 15 years, teaching hundreds of students across all CLB levels.
Originally from St. John’s, Newfoundland, Brent completed his initial education at Memorial University and the College of the North Atlantic. His introduction to the world of language teaching began in St. John’s after completing a TEFL certificate and doing some volunteering with the Association for New Canadians. After relocating to Saskatchewan in 2007, Brent completed coursework within the CERTESL program at the University of Saskatchewan and was granted his teaching accreditation with TESL Saskatchewan.
Working within the language and settlement sector has provided Brent with an incredible amount of professional and personal satisfaction. Brent has a true passion for his work and is deeply committed to advocating for newcomers and fostering their language acquisition and overall goals. Brent looks forward to bringing this passion and commitment to his new role as a member of SAISIA’s board of directors.
