Who We Are

About SAISIA

Established in 1987, SAISIA serves newcomers by providing settlement and integration agencies in Saskatchewan with access to professional development and opportunities to network, as well as links to resources they can use to strengthen and enhance their internal procedures, client programs and services. SAISIA is the voice of immigration and settlement agencies to the federal, provincial and municipal governments, the community, and the public.

SAISIA acknowledges that we operate on Treaty 2, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10 territories, the traditional gathering lands of diverse First Nations Peoples and the homeland of the Métis Nation.

SAISIA works to bring our members and Indigenous Peoples together in a spirit of respect for the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s Calls to Action #93 and #94, with meaningful applications for the newcomer serving sector nation-wide, as well as the principles outlined in the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. Our relationships with the Indigenous Peoples of these territories are an important part of our history and our shared future.
